Resveratrol improves the flow of blood by invigorating the creation and release of nitric oxide. Additionally, resveratrol restrains the production of angiotensin II, a hormone secreted in response to high blood pressure and heart failure. Angiostensin II is damaging to the heart because it enables the proliferation of collagen secreting heart muscles. Collagen causes the stiffening of heart mussels which leads to a reduced ability to pump blood. So increased reseveratrol means increased nitrix oxide which leads to decreased collagen and increased heart health.
